I have fifteen years of experience in lending and investment roles at Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). My experience spans multiple asset classes and sectors of community development and social impact investing, including charter school facility financing, small business lending, New Markets Tax Credits, Opportunity Zones, U.S. Department of Education credit enhancement-leveraged loan funds and other revolving grant and loan programs.

I most recently served as Vice President of Charter School Financing at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). At LISC I oversaw an active portfolio of $100 million in loans and investments in high-quality public charter schools - among the largest segments of LISC’s portfolio - and led the design and launch of several new LISC initiatives including the SchoolBuild Credit Enhancement Fund and the Spark Opportunity Grant Program.

Prior to LISC I spent six years at Seedco Financial. I was trained in credit analysis as a small business loan underwriter, then served as Credit Manager, recruiting and training a growing team of underwriters, and later led Seedco Financial/Empowerment Reinvestment Fund’s $200 million New Markets Tax Credit program.

Early in my career I served as a Research Associate at the non-partisan Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington DC. I co-edited the book Mexican Governance: From Single Party Rule to Divided Government, published by CSIS in 2004.
